Traction Equipment Modeling

eTraX includes traction specific equipment modeling in addition to complete modeling for transmission and low-voltage signaling power equipment. Traction power equipment can be used to model any AC voltage level, frequency and/or DC systems.

  • Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS) Configuration & Impedance Calculation with Warehouse
  • Railway Track Electrical Resistance & Warehouse
  • Auto Transformer (AT)
  • Booster Transformer (BT)
  • Scott-T Transformer
  • Elevation, Bend Radius and Speed Limits, Coasting, Signaling
  • Traction Substation (TSS) and Switching Station (SSP) topologies. Typical electrical traction distribution configurations that are modeled using eTraX include:
    • 1 X AC kV without booster transformers
    • 1 X AC kV with booster transformers and return conductor
    • 2 X AC kV with autotransformers
    • DC traction with controlled rectifiers
    • DC traction with uncontrolled rectifiers
